The Spotontrack API is now available
We're excited to announce the launch of the Spotontrack API, a long-awaited feature designed to give developers, music professionals, and analysts direct access to our growing dataset.
Over the years, Spotontrack has become a trusted tool for tracking the performance of songs and artists across streaming platforms. Until now, our insights have been available exclusively through our interface - but with the release of the API, you can now integrate that same data directly into your own workflows, dashboards, or tools.
Build your own tools on top of Spotontrack data
Whether you're a label tracking the performance of your catalog, a developer building internal tools, or an analyst creating dashboards, the Spotontrack API gives you programmatic access to key streaming data points.
You can now automate your reporting, power custom analytics dashboards, or connect Spotontrack data to other platforms in your workflow. No more manual exports or copy-paste operations - just clean, structured data on demand.
What's available today?
The first version of the Spotontrack API focuses on track-level data, giving you access to a comprehensive view of how any song is performing across multiple platforms.
One of the core features is chart data. For each track, you can retrieve current and peak chart positions from Spotify, Apple Music, Shazam, and Deezer - making it easy to follow the evolution of a song across different services and regions.
In addition to charts, the API also provides detailed playlist data. For any given track, you can see the list of playlists it's currently featured on, across Spotify, Apple Music, and Deezer. We also provide historical follower data for Spotify and Deezer playlists, allowing you to analyze playlist growth over time and evaluate reach and impact more precisely.
You can also access the Spotify stream count for each track - the same public play count displayed on Spotify's platform. This metric is useful for tracking momentum, assessing performance across campaigns, or benchmarking against similar tracks.
Finally, the API includes Shazam counts, which indicate how many times a track has been identified by users through the Shazam app. This is a valuable data point for understanding listener curiosity, real-world exposure, or early traction, particularly in new or emerging markets.
All of this data is available through structured, well-documented endpoints, designed to scale with your needs - whether you're monitoring a few tracks or managing a large catalog.
Pricing and access
We've designed the API to be flexible and affordable, in line with our philosophy for the core Spotontrack platform. Pricing starts at 49.99€/month, and is based on the number of unique entities (tracks, artists, etc.) you request data for. Once an entity is included in your plan, you can make unlimited requests for that entity - ideal for recurring updates or integrating real-time dashboards.
You can get started today by browsing the full documentation and selecting a plan that fits your needs directly from your billing dashboard on Spotontrack.
We'll continue to expand the API in the coming weeks, starting with artist-level endpoints and additional data types. If you have specific needs or ideas for new endpoints, we'd love to hear from you.
